Position Summary:

Reporting to the Superintendent, Plant Services, the Sanitation Supervisor works closely with the employee team and Quality Assurance Department to maintain the best sanitary upkeep of the facility. This includes daily involvement with chemicals, micro-analysis, and team building. Schedule is rotational across three (3) start times.

Key Accountabilities:

• Provide leadership & effective supervision and training of Sanitation staff; ensuring all tasks completed to specifications.

• Accountable to accurately maintain sanitation records.

• Manage safe, cost effective and efficient production.

• Continuously improve our manufacturing resources, process, efficiencies and quality.

• Ensure employee safety and compliance to the Occupational Health & Safety Act.

• Ensure Quality Compliance with all HACCP procedures.

• Maintain a positive union and employee relations' environment.

• Administration of the Collective Agreement.

• Ensure open and effective communications.

• Ensures that the sanitation procedures are always followed.

• Ensures staff handles and packages product in a sanitary manner.

• Manages employees to ensure that good manufacturing Practices are followed.

• Other duties as required.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of lead-hand/supervisory experience.

• Minimum of one year experience in meat processing environment and minimum of one year of food plant sanitation experience.

• Post-secondary education in operations, business, transportation or warehousing preferred.

• Knowledge of CFIA & Safety regulations, GMP and HACCP practices.

• Familiarity working in a unionized environment.

• Able to accommodate a flexible work schedule.

• Effective communication, organization & motivation skills with a proven ability to lead & influence with good command of English.
