â€¢ Work closely with, Maintenance Manager to motivate diverse workforce to continuous improvement in production, quality and safety goals.
â€¢ Initiate and attend meetings with refrigeration, equipment and plant maintenance team to ensure continuous improvement in processes and work habits.
â€¢ Coordinate and encourage employee involvement in team building skills, as well as company policies and procedures.
â€¢ Responsible for assisting with production problems, ensuring parts, tools and equipment are available providing maximizing efficiency and productivity
â€¢ Assisting in mentoring and training employees.
â€¢ Conduct labor tracking or work orders and demonstrate accountability on productivity of the team.
â€¢ Delegate work assignments based on the production schedule and inhouse stake holder requirements and assure that employees are at maximum productivity.
â€¢ Document departmental performance metrics, to include but not limited to: Direct Labour Hours, On-Time Delivery, Training Hours Conducted, errors per employee, employee productivity.
â€¢ Generate Purchase order, order and receive parts, follow and update preventative maintenance program or work order program.
â€¢ Must work hand to hand with salami master for room capabilities and performance for optimal output.
â€¢ Strong project management skills in planning, scheduling, assigning, budgeting and managing;
â€¢ Millwright and/or Electrician ticket is preferred and refrigeration ticket is an asset;
â€¢ 3-5 years leadership/supervisory experience in a maintenance role or equivalent;
â€¢ 5 years experience in a food processing environment preferred;
â€¢ Hands on Individual with the proven ability to provide leadership and direction within the maintenance department (this includes ability to manage within the Collective Agreements or Terms and Conditions, Plant's and HR policies and guidelines);
â€¢ Knowledge and /or experience in LEAN manufacturing an asset;
â€¢ Strong communication and analytical skills;
â€¢ Computer skills
â€¢ Demonstrated ability to work with and understand production scheduling systems. ERP system for PO tracking, work order system for PM and parts tracking
â€¢ Demonstrated experience in proposing and driving change initiatives/improvement programs
â€¢ Have strong knowledge of HACCP/GMP/JHSC.
â€¢ Requires enthusiasm, initiative, and effective judgment in a fast paced, results-oriented environment.
â€¢ Must be receptive to sudden and frequent changes in priorities.
â€¢ A hands-on work ethic with creative problem solving skills, disciplined, consistent and hard worker.
Note: The work week week will be from Tuesday to Saturday or Monday to Friday depending on schedule of maintenance operations. On call for emergency situations.
