Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is seeking an Intermediate Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join theirConventional Energy Team in Calgary. The successful candidate will have oil and gas experience.

As a part of the Instrumentation Controls and Telecom discipline, your responsibilities within Instrumentation will be as follows:

  • Design, development and technical content of the Instrumentation project work
  • Responsible for specifying and selecting field instrumentation and control devices
  • Responsible for reviewing supplier bids to ensure compliance with instrument data sheets and produce technical bid summaries
  • Responsible for performing squad check of vendor data and drawings from other disciplines
  • Have frequent contact with vendors, and internal staff
  • Plan, coordinate and prepare equipment or work specifications, bid evaluations and award recommendations for various equipment
  • Has the ability to manage multiple ongoing facility projects

Skills / Qualifications

  • Instrumentation Technologist / Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering
  • 10 years industry experience in Western Canada and knowledgeable in all commodities
  • Computer skills and database knowledge
  • Application of Smart Plant Instrumentation
  • Exposure to engineering tools (i.e., Industry standard sizing programs)
  • Exposure to configuration of industrial systems
  • Ability to problem-solve effectively
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
