The API Support Engineer is an implementation specialist representing technology with the responsibility of solutioning our middle tier and API capabilities for our applications and supporting infrastructure. This is a key role supporting the build, test, deploy and operational support pillars of technology projects and platforms across the Bank. You will work closely with cross team support engineers and tester colleagues, business systems analysts, scrum masters to implement project specific solutions. You will support the design and deployment strategies which align with our target state stack for API and Middleware at LBC. You will participate in infrastructure and application roadmaps to help modernize and maintain the Bank's infrastructure and application ecosystem. You will help guide and lead the technical teams throughout the production support cycle.
Responsabilités
ºDeploying, maintaining, and managing all stages of Production Support lifecycle including bug fixes, small enhancements, and product patch/software update support
ºContribute to the design, build, debugging and support of APIs and Middleware Web Services
ºHave in depth understanding of technology solutions, including cloud, containerization, and APIs
ºGood knowledge in public (AWS, Azure), hybrid and private cloud implementations
ºGood knowledge of Enterprise Integration Patterns, API Control and Runtime Topologies and Middleware Best Practices
ºAbility to understand and document using sequence diagrams, or any UML patterns
ºStrong attention to detail on implementation of all solution components in alignment with the API and Middleware Platforms architecture strategy
ºSupport discussions which help create a detailed functional and technical specification with awareness of security best practices
ºWell versed in middleware architecture and best practices
ºDemonstrate analytical mindset with strong affinity for problem solving in complex environments
ºInfluence the Bank's strategic orientation by implementing technological solutions that optimize the quality of services and operations
ºEnsure solutions being proposed are viable and balance strategic and tactical goals, and meet project budget and timelines
ºPerform analysis to understand the impact of changes to upstream and downstream systems
ºProvide subject matter expertise, help support the technical teams and be a trusted advisor to the business
ºWork closely with Solution, Infrastructure and Data architects to ensure all facets of architecture are being considered
ºDemonstrate excellent communication and negotiation skills required to clearly articulate and explain the proposed solution to senior stakeholders
ºWork closely with vendors for outsourced solutions. Review vendor solutions and recommendations
Qualifications
º3+ years of production support and/or developer experience implementing API and Middleware solutions for large programs with excellent understanding of how to build resilient systems in a complex ecosystem
ºProven experience working in a highly complex multi platform 24/7 environment
ºAbility to understand and document using sequence diagrams, or any UML patterns
ºWorking Knowledge of API concepts such as REST, JSON, XML, SOAP, YAML, GraphQL, Swagger
ºKnowledge of interchange messaging financial standards and frameworks such as ISO 20022 and ISO 8583
ºPrior experience developing and supporting integrations with Mainframe (CICS transactions)
ºFamiliarity with Stream Processors (Apache Kafka) and/or Message Brokers
ºGood Technology Expertise with API Management Platforms such as MuleSoft Anypoint, IBM API Connect, APIGee, WSO2, Kong Konnect or others
ºGood understanding of business requirements and technical NFRs
ºAbility to work with Visio, EA Sparks, Confluence and JIRA
ºGood understanding of RDBMS and SQL and familiarity with EDI and/or ETL tools
ºExperience in Agile methodologies
ºKnowledge of the banking and financial sectors
ºStrong team player with demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment
ºExperience in production support of high availability platforms

Assets

ºKnowledge of BIAN (Banking Industry Architecture Network)
ºExperience with Temenos T24 Integrations
ºExperience in Cloud Infrastructure Topologies, Micro-services architecture, and SOA
ºProven knowledge of build and deploy capabilities with Kubernetes and containers
ºCertifications in one or more of the Integrations platforms (MuleSoft Anypoint, IBM Any Connect, Azure APIMs)
ºCertifications in one or more of the major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
ºBilingual (English/French) verbal and written communication skills are an asset.
